Prolific Music Entertainment (PME) quite unassumingly started life in October 1995 as an enterprise design studio based in Birmingham, Central England. Clients around this time included Disney and Virgin.
By 2003 we had moved into more diverse media territories including television and digital media. The area of our greatest strength however, was music production. Our first artist was signed in 2004 and our first commercial releases commenced in 2007. In the same year we were responsible for two Number 1 club chart singles and two Top 5 club albums.
We began working with Sinitta, then a TV judge in her own right on ITV’s “Grease Is The Word” (Syco/Fremantle) writing and recording new music for her. This then developed into an album compilation project in partnership with Sony Music and Cherry Red Records.
We also produced the debut single of the “Grease Is The Word” joint winner, Danny Bayne. The close of 2008 saw us begin production work with legendary disco icon, European TV celebrity and bespoke artist, Amanda Lear. Writing, producing and remixing a number of tracks for her in association with Warner Music and other licensor labels.
Capitalising on the success of 2008, and in addition to our work with Amanda Lear and Sinitta, 2009 saw us working with another 80’s pin up, Samatha Fox. Again teaming up with Sony Music.
In 2010 we commenced work on a second Amanda Lear album with Italian partner Just Good Music For Your Ears, whilst working with music luminaries Mari Wilson, Tina Charles and Boy George.
We hit the ground running in 2011, kicking off the year with a project for Tesco Entertainment in association with ITV Studios to mark the 50th Anniversary of top rating British serial drama, ‘Coronation Street’. We remixed and additionally produced several songs from the ‘Coronation Street: Rogues, Angels, Heroes & Fools’ album, working on tracks by stars such as Katherine Kelly and Kym Marsh. We ended 2011 with Tina Charles’ debut single with Prolific Music. “Your Love Is My Light” was a well-received, effervescent pop number that marked a return to recording for Tina following a three year hiatus.
Between 2012 and 2015 we have been steadily working on a full studio album with Tina. This saw us team up with master producer, Phil Harding and possibly one of the world’s most revered songwriters, former Motown hit king, Lamont Dozier.
Heading into 2014, we decided that it was time for a change at Prolific Music. A complete brand overhaul was devised and our design studio closed enabling us to focus entirely on music. We also began working with ‘X Factor’, ‘Popstar To Opera Star’ and ‘The Jump’ winner Joe McElderry.
It’s full steam ahead in 2015. Our work continues with Joe McElderry and his debut track with Prolific Music has been getting a rapturous response from audiences on his ‘Evolution’ UK tour. We also have two new signings who are just starting out with us; Carl Tracey and Jade. Those with youngers will know both Jade and Carl as being two thirds of Nick Jr.’s (Viacom International) bubbly pop group, Go!Go!Go!
